Abstract

The university environment not only functions as a space for academic activities, but can also be a medium for learning and real practice in building concern for environmental sustainability. The Faculty of Agriculture, Khairun University has the potential to develop a green campus environment through the optimization of open space, the addition of vegetation, and the active involvement of the academic community. This community service activity aims to create a greener and more beautiful environment of the Faculty of Agriculture, Khairun University through participatory greening and environmental arrangement. A total of 200 ornamental plants of 10 types were planted in an area of 30 m² which is divided into three arrangement points. Each type of plant totals 20 plants. The results of the activity show that the program is able to add 200 ornamental plants at three points of the campus environment and optimize the 30 m² open space as a more organized green area. The high involvement of students, namely 15 people from all participants, shows that reforestation activities can be a means of participation and experience-based learning. This program provides a basis for the development of a green campus culture through the involvement of the academic community and sustainable maintenance.
