Abstract

The potential of South Halmahera Regency to support regional economic development based on the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector is a key focus for the community, as MSMEs play a significant role in job creation. The importance of the role of credit or financing disbursement from the Islamic financial institutions sector as an intermediary financing function for the MSME sector is underscored by the fact that the percentage of MSMEs’ contribution to both the regional and national economies is quite significant. The Saruma Sejahtera South Halmahera Sharia Rural Bank (BPRS) has indeed fulfilled its role in the MSME sector in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 21 of 2008 on Sharia banking in Indonesia, namely providing financing based on Sharia contracts and principles, including to customers in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), so that they can operate their economic businesses in accordance with Law No. 20 of 2008, which specifically regulates the MSME sector in Indonesia. This qualitative study aims to determine the extent to which the Saruma Sejahtera Sharia Rural Bank (BPRS) in South Halmahera Regency supports the real economy sector based on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The objective of this study is to examine the mechanisms and procedures for analyzing the financing provided by the Saruma Sejahtera Sharia Rural Bank (BPRS) to MSME-based economic actors in the fisheries and agriculture sectors within South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province.
