Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the characteristics and motivations of visitors to visit so that it can be used as material for the local government in developing the Maitara Tengah Village Mangrove Tourism more optimally. This study was conducted from January to March 2025 located at the Central Maitara Village Mangrove Tourism, Tidore Islands City. The researcher determined the sampling technique was carried out by incidental sampling, namely anyone met by the researcher in the field would be used as a respondent in this study. The number of respondents was 40 respondents. In this study, the author used qualitative data analysis. Based on the results of the study, it shows that as many as 60% of respondents are motivated to enjoy the view of the mangrove forest in Maitara Tengah Village. While as many as 23% of respondents or visitors who come to the Maitara Tengah Village mangrove tour have the motivation to vacation. The remaining 10% of respondents who visit have the motivation to want to know or are curious about the Maitara Tengah Village mangrove tour, and 7% of respondents are motivated to visit to conduct research. Suggestions in the research are: (a) There needs to be more active promotion of tourism from the village government by involving various parties, (b) The Maitara Tengah Village Government also needs to collaborate with various parties to develop mangrove tourism in Maitara Tengah Village.
