The research method employed in this study is descriptive qualitative research. This method is a research procedure aimed at describing, dissecting, and analyzing a phenomenon, event, or social activity in depth. It examines data—presented as written descriptions, interview transcripts, or documents, rather than statistical figures—to shed light on social issues or activities that may be unfamiliar to the public. This was carried out through legal outreach (legal education) provided to the residents of Songa Village, Bacan Timur Tengah District, South Halmahera Regency, specifically regarding the distinctions between breach of contract (*wanprestasi*), embezzlement, and fraud. To foster legal awareness and the importance of maintaining social harmony, the law must be communicated to the broader community; one effective approach is legal outreach—the dissemination of legal information and an understanding of prevailing regulations. The goal is to cultivate a society with a comprehensive grasp of legal culture—one that is orderly and compliant with established norms and regulations—thereby upholding the supremacy of law. Through this legal outreach in Songa Village—attended by 37 residents—many participants gained an understanding of the fundamental differences between these three types of cases. Consequently, they are now better equipped to avoid misclassifying a breach of contract as a criminal matter, ensuring that such issues are instead addressed within the appropriate legal domain: civil law.
