Abstract

Technology and capacity of the driving power can affect the productivity and profitability of the surface gill net fishery business in each season. The study aims to determine the productivity and profitability of small-scale surface gill net fishing business that uses a ketinting drive power of 6.5 PK, and an outboard motor of 15 PK each season. The data types include secondary and primary collected by the triangulation method. The number of samples was 45 business owners who used 6.5 PK ketintinting drive power and 15 PK outboard motors. The analysis carried out includes total production costs, total revenue, net profit, Net Profit Margin ratio, and business productivity. The results of the analysis show that the highest business productivity of outboard motors of 15 PK occurred in the eastern season of 2.64 while the peak of 6.5 PK was also in the eastern season of 3.61. The highest net profit from the 15 PK outboard motor surface gill net fishing business in the western season was IDR 18,900,000 while the 6.5 PK kettinting in the eastern season was IDR 21,322,500. The highest NPM ratio of 15 PK outboard motors in the eastern season was 0.621 or 62.1%, while the 6.5 PK inboard was also 0.723 or 72.3% in the eastern season. The small-scale surface gillnet fishery business using a 6.5 HP ketinting motor has high productivity and profitability in every season in the TPK Kei kecil conservation area.
